Agnelli family is a wealthy and influential Italian business dynasty which at one time represented 4.4% of Italy's GDP. John Elkann inherited the business from his grandfather in 2003 at the age of twenty-seven. According to Vanity Fair the Agnelli family are "known as the Kennedys of Italy" and Gianni Agnelli was "known as the unofficial king of Italy."〔 By 2008 the one extended Agnelli family included over two hundred members and their businesses were managed by Gianni Agnelli three longtime ''consiglieri''.〔 By 2010 the Agnelli family controlled "Italy’s largest manufacturer"〔 ''Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino'' (Italian Automobile Factory of Turin), through its Exor SpA holding company. By 1970, Fiat employed more than 100,000 in Italy when its production reached the highest number, 1.4 million cars, in that country.
